Niamh’s Neverland Emergency Information Holder. – Review

Scrolling through facebook, I got tagged in a post by my sister to look at something. That something was this! An Emergency Information holder that you can attach to your seatbelt of your car.

I jumped at the chance to get one, as the pessimist and catastrophiser in me saw it as a good investment in case something happened to us in the car and either myself or Martin were unable to speak for the children.

Many of you who follow my blog will know my youngest, Rubeon, has hydrocephalus and as a result of that, has a shunt fitted in his head. I have to carry a shunt card around with me at all times for him, which explains what shunt he has (as there are various ones out there) and what setting his valve is on. This little piece of important information lives with me in my purse, but if I leave Rubeon with a family member, I don’t always remember to give it to them! And this is where the emergency info seatbelt holder comes in.

I totally forgot it was coming to be honest, so it was a bit of a surprise when the postman knocked on my door to deliver a parcel. But when I opened it up I was over the moon with what I found!

It has a little pouch on it where I can slip in all the emergency information I want to put in. I’ve popped a little card in with Rubeons name/date of birth/address/parents, his shunt information and valve setting, the number for the Neuro department at hospital and an emergency contact. I also decided to write a little card for the rest of us as well, as I figured if Rubeon was in the car, it would be highly likely the others would be too. So Lily, William, Martin and I all have a little card in there too.

I got in talks with the creator of this emergency information holder, Katy – owner of Niamh’s Neverland. I wanted to know what inspired her to make such an ingenious creation, and she had this to say:

Im a mum, full time student and i run Niamhs Neverland. Its hectic and crazy at times but i love helping other mums overcome obstacles. If designing accessories that are bright and colourful for kids to carry around their medicines or to wear in the car make kids smile then its all worth it!”

It’s such a simple yet innovative idea, which has given me peace of mind knowing that all the important information is in one place and easily accessible should something happen to us. It’s so easy to attach to the seatbelt too! It has a long strip of Velcro on the back, and it just sits comfortably on the seatbelt.

What’s even better is you can choose what fabric you’d like it to have! I went for multicoloured dinosaurs and a blue pouch, but you can choose a different fabric from a great selection! I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for pretty fabrics – it took me a while to decide which one to go for!For the peace of mind this has given me, it really is worth every penny.

Katy also creates other fantastic and practical products that have been inspired by other parents on social media. (Check out her nappy wallets here!)

You can find Niamh’s Neverland on Facebook, or shop online on their website.

It really is a fantastic device and I wouldn’t be without it now!
